The Energy Networks Association (ENA) maintains the official register of grid-code compliant plug-in solar devices for Great Britain. Every kit that has passed G98 or G99 testing appears here — and if a kit isn't here, your DNO has grounds to object to your G98 notification. This page auto-syncs from the ENA Connect Direct registry every day so what you see is what the network operators actually accept.

What "compliant" means (in plain English)

To sell a plug-in solar kit into the UK market under SI 2026 No. 848, the inverter must pass:

• G98 Type Test — the grid-code compliance test for single-phase generators up to 16A per phase. The overwhelmingly common route for plug-in solar's 800VA / 3.5A cap.
• G99 (optional) — the grid-code test for larger generators; some plug-in kits carry it too for future-proofing above 800W.

The manufacturer submits test evidence to a Type Test Verification body, and if the kit passes it goes on this ENA register. Only kits on this list can be lawfully notified via G98 to a DNO in Great Britain. Buying a kit not on the list means your DNO can refuse the notification and require removal.

What to notice in the current list

Three patterns are worth flagging for buyers reading this list.

EcoFlow is now on the register (as of 22 September 2026). EcoFlow's STREAM kits — ECOFL/21128/V1/A3 (FlatRoof / Facade / PitchedRoof bundles) and ECOFL/21606/V1/A1 (EF-PS-800 + SPDG505 panel) — cleared G98 certification and are the first major international brand on the list. That gives them a clear head start over other big names.

Still missing: Bright Saver, Anker SOLIX, and Craftstrom are not yet on the register. Their kits are actively marketed in the UK, but their G98 certification is still working through the pipeline. Buying an unlisted kit means the DNO can refuse your G98 notification — the risk sits with you until the manufacturer completes certification. Zendure and City Plumbing are the surprise entries. Zendure SolarFlow 800 has six bundle variants listed already (ZENDU/21469 through ZENDU/21474), each pairing the SolarFlow 800 with different mounting kits. City Plumbing Supplies Holdings — a UK trade distributor — has four Hoymiles HF-800-WB-based bundles with progressively larger panels (CITYP/21388 through CITYP/21392). Solar Centre, VALE, TSUNESS and Perlight round out the mid-market.

Compatibility bundles matter. Several registry entries are the same core microinverter (e.g. the VaySunic VM800WE-P2 or Hoymiles HMS-800-2WB) bundled with different panel and mounting combinations. Each variation carries its own registry reference. If you're buying a kit built around one of these inverters, verify the specific bundle you're buying matches a listed variant — not just the inverter alone.

What to do with the registry

Before you buy any UK plug-in solar kit, do this 60-second check:

1. Note the exact model name and part number from the vendor's product page.
2. Ctrl-F the table above (or search the official ENA registry) for the manufacturer name.
3. Match the specific model + inverter combination against a listed entry.
4. Save the registry reference (e.g. SOLAW/21640/V1) — you'll enter it on the G98 form when you notify your DNO.

How often is this page updated?

The ENA registry is fetched and this table regenerated once every 24 hours by our scheduled task. The "last synced" date shown at the top of the table above tells you when this page's data was last refreshed.

What happens if I buy a kit that isn't on the ENA register?

Your DNO can refuse the G98 notification, in which case you'd be running the kit without permission — a technical breach of your electricity supply agreement. Practical consequence varies: some DNOs actively check, most don't unless there's a service issue. Buying only listed kits is the safe path; buying unlisted (like EcoFlow STREAM currently) is a calculated risk that resolves the moment the manufacturer completes certification.

How do manufacturers get on the ENA registry?

They submit type-test evidence (G98 pass) to a Type Test Verification body, who submits to ENA on their behalf. Process typically takes 2–4 months from initial submission. Big-name brands like EcoFlow and Anker are currently working through this pipeline for their UK-specific SKUs.
